Bike holidays in Alta Badia – challenge the Dolomites!
Hotel Col Alto is a perfect base for anyone who wishes to explore the Dolomites on a bike. As soon the first blossoms peek through the melting snow, you can already start on wonderful trails that wind through meadows and woodland, and make a stopover at a mountain hut for a bit of rest and a tasty bite.
One of the most atmospheric itineraries in our surroundings is the one that hosts the famous Maratona dles Dolomiti, an amateur competition where you challenge the Dolomites’ mountain passes just like great champions do. From our bike hotel in the Trentino Alto Adige region it is also possible to tackle the climbs that lead to the nearby Passo Gardena and Passo Campolongo, from where you can admire the beautiful natural scenery.
Trails and tours for every taste
Starting from our bike hotel in Alta Badia, you can take your pick of the climbs that lead to the nearby Gardena and Campolongo passes, where you will be rewarded with a jaw-dropping view. There are dozens of MTB trails to choose from, all highly panoramic. If you prefer to go a bit off the beaten track, don’t worry – there are plenty of more adventurous options, too! You can take the lifts and sink your teeth into freeride descents that are sure to set your pulse racing. Those who prefer less demanding trails can always choose the flatter paths that lead to the neighbouring villages. There’s more: the renowned Sellaronda Bike Day is held here in the vicinity of our hotel. On the occasion, 4 passes in the Dolomites – including the Gardena and the Campolongo passes – are closed to car traffic so that cyclists can enjoy the pass roads safely. An event you don’t want to miss if you and your bike are lucky enough to be in the area in that period.
